The Panasonic Viera TX-P50G10 is a 50" plasma screen and is considered to be a lower mid-range model. This range of TV is being produced by Panasonic to give you the best value for the money. The plasma screen on this TV is 12th generation, and means that it uses considerably less energy than the plasma screens made prior to this one.
This TV is also considered to have the "tough panel" screen. The screen on the TX-P50G10 is considerably more rugged than some and can withstand small blows without sustaining damage. As far as the rest of the unit, the "G" series is basically a bare bones TV and has basic features only.

Panasonic seems to be playing a game with the Sony Corporation about how many "Hertz" you have in the resolution of the screen of the TV. Sony is currently marketing plasma screens with 600 Hertz to display the pixels. Panasonic, on the other hand is stating it has "600 Hertz Intelligent Frame Creation Pro." Then on a sub heading, Panasonic list the letters "sfd" which stands for "sub field drive." Because of the way Panasonic displays the pixels in the plasma screen, the pixels run at 600 Hertz. In all actuality the TX-P50G10 is a 100 Hertz television. It is the "Intelligent Frame Creation" that causes the fluid motion.
No matter what all these figures and facts mean, as a consumer, you should be interested in the sharpness and clarity of the picture. After all that is what you buy a TV for, right?
There were tests done on the television with special test patterns, this caused a small amount of flickering but is not noticeable during regular TV viewing. There was also a very small amount of flicker when watching DVD movie
The colour sharpness and clarity only varied slightly from the perfect and the contrast is perfect. Typical of plasma screen televisions, the picture remains the same from different viewing angles.
As stated above, this TV comes with just the basic features. The TX-P50G10 does come with a place for SD and SDHC cards so it can play digital JPEG and AVCHD videos but offers no other multimedia type viewing equipment.
The Panasonic unit is equipped and ready to receive all current types of reception available today. The one hang up may be in the future as the television is not equipped for the C1 Plus access some cable companies are considering.
The Panasonic TX-P50G10 is all round very good value for money.
